World field Gamprin-Bendern

The world field brings food production to life

Opposite the Grossabünt leisure facility, the Gamprin-Bendern world field has been realized on an area of 2000 m². The cultivation is carried out in cooperation with the municipality of Gamprin, the farmer Thomas Büchel and the Gamprin municipal school. The children from first to fifth grade accompany the food plants from sowing to harvest and thus learn where and how food is produced. This creates a connection to food production and an awareness of food and how it is produced.

In addition to the aspects of education and awareness, the world field is also intended to serve as a field of innovation for the development of further new products with the help of local stakeholders. The population is involved in the production of food in order to convey the connection to locally grown food directly and concretely (e.g. through targeted events with school classes).

The World Field is intended to raise awareness of the fact that food supply cannot be taken for granted and how essential agricultural land is for the production of our food.
