Weltacker in Nuglar
The Weltacker in the idyllic Swiss village of Nuglar, near Basel / Liestal, is part of the Nuglar Gärten community-supported agriculture project and shows how a Demeter vegetable farm cultivates an area of 2000 m². What, how much and, above all, how can you grow on 2000 m² in harmony with nature and people? How does this relate to global arable land use and what is important for soil life, biodiversity and people as producers or consumers?

The Weltacker Nuglar combines the Weltacker story with all its important environmental facts, area calculations and global summaries with the story of a local smallholding and its 10 years of experience and practical research for a concrete alternative way of farming.
The Demeter farmer and soil ambassador Benjamin Zimber and/or active members of the “Nuglar Gardens” association (consisting of geologists, educators, environmental scientists, sociologists, etc.) offer:
- Weltacker tours for adults (groups or individuals)
- WeltackerSchool in the form of learning half-days or project days for school classes
- Global Field events such as spring or harvest celebrations
- WeltackerBuffet with public meals or private catering on request

The Weltacker and its installations can also be admired independently at any time. Practical experience and hands-on learning are particularly important to the team from Nuglar! You can also lend a hand yourself and try out one or two farming tasks on the Global Field. You are also welcome to taste fresh and self-harvested known and unknown crops or watch and listen to the numerous insects, smell the scents of the field, feel the earth.
